Hello everyone,

I came across this site when I was looking for a decent priced ticket to KTM. I read a few threads and some reviews of the Nepali travel agents. I did some research myself and compiled a good list of travel agents. I gave them grades and reviews based on my criteria. I ope this will be helpful for others who are thinking of buying a ticket soon.

Criteria:

1. Neutrality - I am not affiliated with any of these agents (unlike some of the other posts on sajha). I am an independent user like you who was looking for a decent priced ticket with good customer service.

2. Customer Service - I called and emailed all of the below listed agents. Customer service was on the top of my criteria listing.

3. Responsiveness - I had heard a lot of complaints about the responsiveness of the agents. So I tested it myself (both email and phone response)

4. Prices - This, of course, is one of the most important criteria.

5. Professionalism/Friendliness - I want my travel agent to make me comfortable. I am spending a lot of money, all I am asking for is some professionalism and friendliness from the agent.

Which travel agency has been in the business for the longest time?

I have been getting tickets from Peaceland for a while now (since 1997) but recently their services have been below par. I think it was because the original owner (Rabin Bhandari) left. I am not sure about the rest. Good question though.

Like I said, I am just a regular traveler... not affiliated with any of them. You might want to call/email them and confirm. I am not sure why they can't issue tickets from Canada though. I have had tickets issued from KTM even. You should call/email and confirm.

god research. we need to encourage these sort of activities in this forum so that everyone can benifit.
Travelhouse is something i have never heard of. now i know due to in_person and perhaps i can benifit from good service. who knows.

I am also wondering.Most of the travel agencies run by nepalese are looks busy.They don't respond much.I have called three... travel agencies some says they don't have ticket either.I found one travel agency.. I called 5 days continueously for ticket of 4 person round trip but they looks so busy they don't have time even to take customer.I am wondering, is it because of "thorai' Nepalese Travel Agencies.Finally i force him to book ticket and i bought ticket from him.Its like i am making business not that travel agencies.Everytime i called travel agencies they are busy.
Zen Travelss.. ha ha.. that is even worse.. I called 2-3 times and i gave name of person to book ticket they did not responded me.Peace travels quoted me high fare.Third Eye.. Even worse... They quoted me $500 more per person from other Travel Agencies.But anyway we need to buy ticket from them.There is no choice too.

i would also like to add skypass travels in dallas, TX who are pretty good in handling reasonable tickets with professionalism, friendliness, and responsiveness.

 i also called a couple of places but they also seem very busy... like you said.. its like they are doing me a favor by returning my call ... LOL.... all i wanted was price quote and that also took 2 days for them to reply back.
