Hello all

Once I-130 petitioned by US Citizens is approved, any one has recent experience to share how long it takes to get in US Embassy in Kathmandu for interview with beneficiary?

Service Center has approved the I-130 petition and forwarded to NVC. How long it will take for NVC to ask the affidavit from petitioner and forward it to US Embassy in KTM? Beneficiary is US Citizen's spouse. I am just asking if anyone has been through this experience. Uptowngal's guess just seems to be guess not based on any fact.

Uptowngal

Your parent must be green card holder only. I-130 Petition filed by green card holder has waiting time which is running about 4 years now. But I am talking about I-130 filed by US citizen which does not have to wait once it is approved. It's just matter of how fast NVC processes. So, I am asking if any one has been through this experience lately.

Thank you for sharing your experience though. It counts.

It should not take more than 2-3 months.

In case of US Citizen filling for spouse once I-130 is approved I think it takes about 6-9 months to process everything I mean until your spouse gets visa. But for siblings or child even I-130 is filled by US citizen, it normally takes like 6-8 yrs. (depends on who you filing for siblings, child (married unmarried) etc.

Aboth,

I will take 2 to 6 month. If it was me, I would do few things.

I would call NVC after one month (date approved from USCIS), better to call early morning to late evening. If they said your documents already forwarded to US embassy to Nepal then i would call directly to US embassy (consular service dept.). If they said they already received then they will suggest you what to do next (your spouse has to go there with Passport)....if not then wait 2-3 weeks follow the same procedures.

Well-wisher,

Sagun

well abodh it will take at least 4 months the fastest and 6 months latest i guess. you have to wait for the visa fee letter from NVC then only your process starts. there fore stay alert for the visa fee letter from NVC after that still need to do some formal documentation for you.

go to the national visa center official web site where you can get inform.

Abodh,
How long did it take for the I -130 to get approved after u filed ? After approval, I guess u can apply for K- visa instead of waiting for longer time.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. It was very informative. This I-130 was filed by US citizen for his wife and got approved in 11 months. So, I was helping him gathering pertinent information. Again, thank you all.
