House revival?

For Maoists, the house of representatives is just another "Bhedi-goth" (re Ramsharan Mahat/TKP). but for the liberals, it is the most precious thing under heaven. And KG knows their weaknesses, as he controls the army, he will always be on the top, even after the revival of house.

The newly appointed CJ has hinted that he will give priority to give a verdict on the case of house revival.

KG might have instructed him to do so, so that KG could show a democratic face in the forthcoming UN general assemnbly,

KG is not clever at all, just notoriously shrewd. Clever folks work for the country and people, not the other way round. He needs to be hung by his balls.

I agree with HULAKI, House revival would be a very easy exit strategy for KG, otherwise he will have to wait to face the serious consequences which can be brought about by an alliance between seven parties and maoists. Everybody knows that KG is that much clever such that he knows that consequences which will be far more dangerous than the revival of the parliament.

By clever, I mean the Nepali meaning of this word. As you know, if someone is cunning and greedy and manages to make money, that persone is considered "clever". ( I mean "makkar" in Arabian, as a synonym).

SC begins review on House dissolution verdict

The Supreme Court Thursday started hearing on a writ petition demanding review on its earlier verdict that upheld the decision of then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to dissolve the House of Representatives in May 2002.

A full bench of the apex court including Chief Justice Dilip Poudel began hearing on the writ filed by advocates Dhruba Koirala and Sunil Chandra Poudel three years ago, informed sources said. The SC full bench comprises of 11 members.

This brings to an end the earlier stand of the apex court not to hear cases on parliament reinstatement - as demanded by the political parties - in the light of its previous verdict.

Opposition political parties had brought a case to the SC, challenging Deuba?s decision to dissolve the House, which failed to impress the SC full bench headed by then Chief Justice Keshab Prasad Upadhaya.

Supreme court already given its verdict earlier on an appeal that said the process of dissolving parliament was unconstitutional. If now again parliament is revived than will be against the constitution. If such practice is allowed for interest of few corrupt leaders than it will pave way for King to go beyond the constitution in other issue also. So it is better not to revive the parliament rather go for election.

Do you think that election will be possible in next two and half year as king declair that he will solve all the major problems in three years???

So far there are no signs of elections or maoist problems.

Restoration of the parliament goes against everything that this current regime stands for -- if it happens, it would mean the King has lost the battle, totally. I find it hard to swallow the idea that the King, and particularly the RNA, would give up so easily, so soon.

Therefore, I THINK it is only a plot to pacify the international community in order to make his upcoming visit to the UN smoother. Once the trip is over, and his entourage return home, it is highly likely that he will be saying, "ईईईईईईईईईईईईईईईईईईईईईईई खा!"

jira and mercury, are we not the fortunates of the unfortunates? its not what newuser or anil or ok or i say, its what we feel- right? just for an example, in the canadian province of british columbia, they are forming constituent assembly without anyone asking for it. the logic is that they want to make sure the view of the ppl are reflected in the decisiion making process and they define democracy SOLELY as - PARTICIPATION OF EVERY BODY IN THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS THAT POTENTIALLY AFFECTS EVERYBODY. That is, they define democracy as one's right to participate in the decision making process if the decision is gonna affect him/her. As such, the province of BC is now going for a rastriya-sabha type of election in which candidates dont simply "win" an election, but they get scores. While making decisions, even the marijuana party of british columbia has a say. every vote casted is equally valid as every other vote.

in nepal, more than 15k ppl died for the 'sanak' of just one a$$ -- gyanendra. if he had ever agreed constituent assembly, no maobadi or no police or no army personnel would have to die. it really sucks yaar.
