Cape Girardeau is a small city right at the bank of Mississippi river. There are some options for you. I am pretty sure that since you are coming for masters, you must be eligible to stay off campus.

2.Try searching off campus apartments near Broadway in craigslist as below: Ask them how far is the apartment from School coz. you do not want to walk that much...school has shuttle service though.
