The Nepali community in the US had hardly recovered from the tragedies of several Nepali students being involved in separate fatal accidents in spring this year when late last week news broke that the 20-year-old Nepali student Pratistha Budhathoki went missing in the quiet and peaceful small town of Estes Park, Colorado. Shocked local residents and worried Nepalis fear the worst as hopes of finding her alive rapidly turns into just hopes of finding any trace or remains of her after a week of her disappearance. » pg.17

ANLUS is appealing Embassy of Nepal to immediately seek information from the US Government on whereabouts of Pratistha Bhandari. We will keep you posted about the new information we may receive in this regard.

As far as we know, the US Government has refused to povide additional information on Miss Pratistha, unless a relative or a family member requests for the information. ANLUS will have a conversation with the Embassy of Nepal the first thing tomorrow morning and let you all know about the development in this regard.

As her uncle is arriving on friday, we hope that information (if any) on Pratistha will be revealed by the investigating authority as soon as he presents himself.

We all pray for the safety and sound health of Miss Pratistha in this moment of grief and offer our sincerest solidarity towards finding her.

Update on missing student Pratistha Budhathoki www.nepaliaawaz.com

10 days after she went missing, it has been revealed that a shopkeeper informed the police last week he had seen Pratistha Budhathoki at the Prospect Mountain. Pratistha's credit card record also verified that it had been used to buy a ticket for the aerial tramway to go to Prospect Mountain on Thursday, 22 June. "It is sort of like going up to Manakamana on the cable car," explains Manish, who has been living in Estes Park since 1997, the small tourist community from where Pratistha has been missing since 18 June.

Local media in Denver have also confirmed reports that Police search dogs detected Pratistha's scent although she remains missing.

As far as my knowledge is concern ,the meaning of "Federal Investigation Bureau" and "Federal Bureau of Investigation" are same.

A positive attitude will definitely help the Community. Do you know what else would help the community as well, people learning the name of the bureau they are working with, or else it will just work against you in your maturity and seriousness. Another thing that might help is NOT trying to undermine the intelligence of the people here that FBI will NOT involve a third party in their investigation. They will seek help from their relatives and friends, and not a website with an incharge whose name is "nepalimandir." Another thing that would help the community is no where it has been reported that FBI has taken over this case (I might be wrong in this one).

There all these things will help the community. So I ask you now where do you see yourself helping the community. Trying to gather the information for what? I don't think its for the FBI, it might be for the FIB. Or is it just for your website?
