At this hour, what Nepal really needs is a charismatic, enlightened dictator. Gyanendra, I am afraid, does not fit the bill. But neither does any other existing Nepali political figure. Actually, truth be told, I got no right to complain from a ghumne mech in an air-conditioned library.

First remove the King from Kathmandu Valley... Give back Kathmandu Valley to its original people. Shah dynasty has ruined the Valley and so did the people from outside Kathmandu Valley. Then deal withyour king.

Prem_dai................. since when did newars became the valley's first people?????????? dogg did you go to high school in INDIA????? if not go get out your books from high school and read them again.... like MahendraMala and Itihas ( oh I forgot you don't know nepali either.. freaking ta-ta-ma-ta......... it is histroy book)...... I would rather bring my fren's dharan, dhankuta, ilam, pachthar meanig Rai and Limbu's Ever heard of KIRAT's............... they were the first settlers of the kathmandu valley... they stayed in kathmandu for a few hundreds of years than moved east... at the mean time.... NEWARS were still in India or Tibet.... beacuse it is half and half.... Looks like I will have to teach you about your own ethnicity..... After the Kirat's left KTM... then came the COW HEARDERS..... Gawala's.... that is when PASHUPATINATH temple was erected because one of the Cow discoverd the ShivaLinga........... that is what history says.... Dogg this is a ever evolving world... people migrate... than came the Newars of KTM... ok you guys are the oldest to live in the valley..... so if you want your valley back... how about we also send all the newars that are all over the country back to the valley and we will seal your HOLE.. and keep you there forever.... do you want that???? I don't think so............if you don't want to be a frog in a deep well.............SHUT UPP PREM-DAI............. No disrespect to your thoughts... but if you come to race... tell you what Newars were no Warriors... they were artists and lovers.... so how can you bring up a subject like ethnicity..... when I am trying to Bring all Nepalis together as one and not as different............ SEE THIS IS our biggest problem in nepal.. we are still hung up on caste and shitttt....... if we all keep saying names to eachother.... People Like Shah's, Rana's, congressies, Moaist will keep us under their boots and grind our future and our lives to dirt............ Prem----- Ma chettri ko Chora ho............ do you like me or not???? are you angry with me because I am not newar.......... tell you what.... Newar gurls are hottt.... better..... ALL NepalI Gurls are hottttttttttttttttttt... i love em' all........ I love all nepali people.. I just wish they would understand the grave problem that we have right now in our hands in nepal....... see we can always fight with eachother... we have plenty of time and centuries to do that........ How about we think of getting rid of Maoist and THe King right now............ focus on one thing at time....... too many ideas and thoughts will distract you from the path you are supposed to go on...... so please no Ethnicty wars here.......... We Are ALL NEPALI...... caste barred.. religion barred.... stand as one nepali....... JAI NEPAL... (save my country being part of india) :):):):):)

I am with ya, Gorkhali. Unity is the key here, and getting rid of maoists or bring them to table is the ultimate thing to do. We'll deal with King down the road. We don't want no Iraq in Nepal either.

bedrock is right.keep that in your mind prem cha khwasa hahaha .and brother prem cha if something happens as ktm is given to newars then the country nepal will go back to the time of wallo kirat, pallo kirat, chaubisi rajya, baisi rajya and alll those.even kathmandu valley willl be parted in three plus yeah kirtipur. and i beleive in king.i sya he should be there.monarchy is needed in country as ours.ok even if you say this is regresssion going on right now ,nepal has seen democracy from 2046 to 2060,putting 2007 behind, and the question arises what has happened in this time frame.the country has gone bad in the midst of corruption and politics. before 2046 some of you should know it how it was.yeah we could not speak our mind out but that was limited only to politics and nothing else.there was peace there was patriotism or nationalism.we used to stand up when the national tune played. so many industries were set up then and many new things were coming into the country.remeber the salt and oil crisis,it was bad yeah but the prime minister then did not bow his head infront of INDIA and he brought it from china, so was that time and now every politician goes to dehli to take asirwaaad of the indian govt. the biggest thing was there was peace and prosperity.people had respect for law and order and the nation.now, its a different situation .every body wants to leave the country and dont blame that to the king. the king didnt rule from 2046 to 2060 and this is the time frame which is darkest in nepals history.the rise of maoists is not the kings personal failure as it happened when sher bdr. deuba was the pm and that was a democratic govt. as we all know.maoist problem is the biggest problem and not the king and also maoist seed was planted by democratic govt. not the king . and dont think 2046 as a democracy that was brought by the people of nepal.in no country democracy comes through at the cost of some 200 people ,take india as the example, and that tooo in the major cities. the democracy that people are proud of is nothing but an indian political intrest.we all know that at least in our sub concious mind. JAY NEPAL

Oii, you guys, just look at the present state of affairs in our country- it's pathetic, to put it mildly. The country is on the brink of collapse, and unless a miracle happens, which i doubt very much, the odds are stacked agaist us. I think we are very close to a huge national disaster, the likes of which we have never been through before. Political leaders and multi-party democracy has failed us miserably in the last 14 or so years we have had the misfortune to experiment with. Their biggest failure yet has been the rise of the maoists, the ruthless lunatics, who now rule the roost in most districts of Nepal. They have wreaked havoc across the country. Maoist atrocities have crossed all boundaries. They are even more ruthless than Iraqi etremists. They have driven people out of thier homes for no reason whatsoever, destroyed precious infrastuctres which we can ill afford, closed down thousands of schools and colleges in many parts of the country jeopardizing the future of hundreds of thousands of students, forcibly closed down many large businesses which are the biggest taxpayers/employers, indiscriminately butchered people etc etc...you name it. Guys, it's pretty grim back home here. Who would have thought 14 years ago that it would come to this pass. Besides, I see no light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. Things can only get worse but not better, as I see it. There is absolutely no HOPE (I lay stress on this word) of a better future for Nepal. In retrospect, things were not too bad during the King's rule. Ok, the King wasn't perfect but then life wasn't as hard as it is now. But then again, these political leaders aren't exactly saints themselves, are they? There were some shortcomings during the King's rule, no denying that, but they pale into insignificane compared to the severity of the catastrope the country is in today. So many things that we took for granted in those days are now a luxury. Except for press freedom, there wasn't much to complain about, but again, the media of today pandering to the whims of political parties is hardly an improvement. Take the TIA episode for example, it was blown out of proportion by the media. As I said before it was hardly a news material. The media should have left alone Girija's tantrums and his ego which is bigger than Mt Everest. Whereas the 12 Nepali hostages in Iraq got little if no attention at all when they were being held by thier captors. Talk about priorities. I also put the blame of the maoist insurgency on Girija because when the problem first surfaced he just shrugged it off as a minor irritant and said that it would just fade away if nobody paid attention to the outfit. If he would have nipped the bud in time, the country would not have been in such a perilious situation today. I also find it highly distressing that the political parties and the people in general do not have the guts to protest against the maoist atrocities. They are friggin shit scared of the maosits, so all they do is thow incessant abuse at the King. How can you blame the King when he hasn't run the government for the last fourteen years? They know they have failed us, and they are simply trying to divert the blame to the King. How indisgeneous is that? Why won't these political parties protest against corrupt leaders like chiranjivi wagle and the likes who have been proven guilty by the CIAA and the court? Ofcourse, because he is one of thier own kind.

So we all are agreeing to many things here. We very well know that Maoists are not going away so what make a deal with them? Wouldn't you rather have Maoists rule Nepal than being a part of India? You might think i am such an pessimist, but sorry thats the picture I have in my head down the road unless miracle happens. mind you though, i left Nepal in end of 1993. I thought Maoists were a joke when first heard it, but alas Girija was also thinking the same way being a PM of the country. I blame him also for not taking care of things in time. So DONT BLAME KING for maoists problem. Birendra gave Democracy in 1990 because he thought country was stable enough to be given a chance, but failure after that isn't his fault. If the king had taken the power right back and mobilize army soon enough this maoists wouldn't have arose. Also, I'd rather see one billionare Royal Ruler in the country than a million millionaires corrupt politicians. We don't have a choice "C" and you don't want "all of the above". I seriously think 1990 democracy came a decade too early, 1990-2000 decade would have put hundreds of thousands more educated people from TU, KU,US and other colleges and universities as potential politicians.
