Unlike other times, the possibility of unity of Maoist and UML has been raised by Jhala Nath Khanal.Even though there was huge criticism on the unity by some leaders of UML before election,it seems the result has changed their mind.Another reason might be,the leaders who were opposing the unity were defeated badly in the election (lets discard the case of Makune) and they might have realised their shortcomings. It might be a milestone in Nepali politics as it would drop-off the fear of those folks who r so pessimist towards Maoist and even fearing of dictatorial communism.Certainly,it would not be a pleasant news for congress who is dreaming to see Girija as a first president of Nepal instead of worrying his journey to Aryaghat.
I cannot winnow out the possibilty that Maoist can endorse Sahana Pradhan for Prez as one of the leaders of Maoist,Dev Gurung told it would be a good way to pay tribute to the spouse of pioneer communist leader,Puspha Lal Shrestha. So,all the Congressi out there,be strong u might get the news of heart attack of ur notorious two-timer leader.Oh my christmas cookies,I could not wait that day!!!!!!!!!!
What u guys think??Have ur say??

i support but not sahana as president
becos she has no stance inside and outside party
being woman or wife of pushpalal shrestha doesnt qualify her for the post, she will be puppet of maoists, remember she was the president of breakaway faction cpn(ml)
i think makune fits the best thought he lost his election bid

It will be good for country if they unite and of course not bad for congress as well, I guess. The only worries of nepali people now is how maoist will put themselves in the national politics once they get the hand in government. BIKASH, you are right, its not a time for giving someone awards or tribute. If its about tribute, then maoist should posses a big heart and give prez to GIRIJA. Talk about present politics and present day contribution. SAHANA is just a escape goat. I can say that SAHANA will be out of government not more than a month because UML definitely doesn't want a STATUE role in the government. GOOD LUCK NEPAL. God help out my fellow countrymen from another ATROCITIES of 21st CENTURY.

It is not a bad idea to unite.
They should unite for unity not for disintegration. Nepalese communists disintegrate more than they unite. But they never get tired of talking about unity. Where is the unity of Narayan Kaji Shrestha's party with Moaists, where is the unity of Amik Sherchan's party with Maoists? How much exercise they have to do to merge into Maoists if they really want it? It's been years since they started talking about merging.
Let UML go along in the present status. They will not gain anything out of the unity with Moaists.
No offense to elusivecat (who created this thread) though. This is the reality of the ground.
