L A D O International College was founded in 1977. We specialize in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Our objective is to take students to the highest level of English proficiency. L A D O prepares students for university work and professional careers.

Dr. Robert L A D O developed the Total Approach, in which the four skill areas of language: speaking, listening, reading, and writing, are acquired in a time efficient manner through the use of an organized syllabus. Students achieve far greater accuracy in speech and writing than in other approaches in which functional communication is the only goal.

Cork City Gaol This prison building housed 19th Century prisoners, often in wretched conditions. A 15-minute walk, west of the city centre, leads you to the restored city gaol, complete with furnished cells. The exhibition and audiovisual display trace the lives of typical sexmates during 19th and 20th centuries, and show some of the harsh pleasures they received.
