Hi guys,

It’s really weird to read that few people have so much to complain about the SMS girls. Think about reality, why is there always a long line at the gate of SMS PKR as well as SMS KTM on the day of registration if everyone is so negative about the school. After all reputation for this school still runs on a high level no matter what kind of education we end up getting. As for the little English girls of SMS speak, I see no problem with it. At least it has helped them get to the American embassy of KTM and get a student visa. As a matter of fact success rate of SMS girls getting a US visa is so much higher in comparison to girls and boys of other schools (excluding Xavier’s of course). Now whom are you kidding with? If anyone has to say anything about the way SMS girls live their life here in US, please time to give me a break. How about the rest? Ain’t everyone living the same low life over here? Come with a student visa, work in a nail saloon and go get drunk at night, shop in Bloomingdales and spend all the money he/she earn. So please don’t give me that crap. There are two types of Nepalese I’ve encountered here in US. One group is highly successful, making a lot of money and earning reputation using their intelligence as well as passion of collecting money and putting it in trust funds. The second ones are bunch of hooligans lucky enough to get student visas who go to school part time, work full time and burn the money paying for tuition fee, gas and drinking. After all that’s the life of Nepalese here in US so please don’t say it’s just the SMS girls.

I’m a proud SMS - Pokhara alumni. If anyone has problems with me being an SMS graduate let me know. I don’t remember a time I’ve played around with Caucasians, Asians, latinos or African American boys, nor do I remember smoking like a chimney and drinking alcohol like a horse. Well I’ll see your comments then.

Ciao

Justified or unjustified, the enigma of the St. Mary's Girl persists--enough for tongues to wag (yes, yes, and yes!), contenance to turn green (indigestion could be the cause), blood to race (adrenaline rush), imaginations to soar and fantasies to multiply(exactly, sujanks!), fabrications to take place (anecdotes of the funnylingual--yes, there is a word that rymes well :)) --unbridled, unfettered, unadulterated!

Such is the saga of the St. Marians. Mindboggling.

Salut girls! :)

I see some people don't believe me. Let me tell you all a true story. I am not fabricating anything. This should be a nail in the coffin. This should seal the deal. Alright, ready?

So let's see, it was about a couple of years ago. A "friend" of mine approached me and told me he was invited by his friends(*shock*, all gals) for dinner, and told me he wanted me to accompany him. So this "buddy" of mine--a twerp, and a 5'3" midget to boot--wanted me to go with him, so he could look cool by being with an uncool guy. I am very shy with women, and this twerp knew it. The twerp wanted to snag all hot women by using me. I gritted my teeth, but I owed this twerp a favor(he is a straight-A student). Naturally, I agreed to accompany him. He specifically mentioned that this joint was a St. Mary's thiti haru ko place. Mmmm, St. Mary's ko thitiharu, I pondered. So as you all might have guessed, I agreed. I remember that day very well. I was very excited. St. Mary's ko thiti haru are on a league of their own, and to a rube like me, hanging out with St. Mary's ko thiti haru was an honor for sure. These gals were Kathmandu ko celebrities, and I was very excited to finally meet these smartypants.
My memory flashed back to those good ol' days back in Nepal, when my good buddy, Rakesh, and I would get overly excited whenever St. Mary's ko thitiharu came close to us. We didn't have the balls to approach them. I mean, how could we? These gals were Kathmandu's cream of the crop. Plus, it seemed like they loved communicating in Angreji. I specifically remember this one episode where this cute St. Mary's ko thiti asked me for a pencil sharpener in angreji(happened at a bus stop). I struggled to understand what she meant, so she decided to speak with me in her native tongue(why, Nepali of course). Tremors developed in my hands and I struggled for a while to get the pencil sharpener out of my backpack. So I finally got it out and gave it to her. She sharpened her pencils and thanked me and proceeded to walk away. Then she suddenly turned around and this is what she said to me in Nepali, I kid you not:"you are cute. tee hee hee." Beads of sweat ran down my back for one full minute, and knew I had to say something to break the ice, so to speak, BUT it so happend that I stuttered and stuttered and stuttered, unable to give a coherent response. So I just ran like I never ran before and ended up missing my class. Needless to say, this episode still haunts me in my dreams. Yes, it is one of my many nightmares. These dreams always have the same theme. It involves a St. Mary's gal who approaches me, and I end up running like mad.
So that was then and this is now, and I knew I had to redeem myself. I needed to face my fears. I have a secret. I never use deodorant. This "buddy" of mine convinced me that these gals were "modern", whatever the term denoted. To bolster what he meant, he mentioned that these gals in fact shaved their legs--something unheard of at that time(this happened in the mid 90's). I felt like somebody took the wind out of my sails. I was losing my confidence.I grimaced, made a giant sucking sound, went to my local 7-11, and got myself a deo. I put some on and tossed it out, knowing that I would have no use for it again. Now I felt I was ready for some serious business.
I remember the night full well. I knew this was a posh upperclass American neighborhood. The pin-drop silence both troubled and intrigued me, because living in a ghetto had made me love the cacophony of human noises. So we knocked on the door, and a cute gal came to answer. She smiled and greeted us both in Angreji of course. I knew I had to suck it up and face my fears. I felt shivers running down my spine, but I knew I could handle it. I was getting nervous again. Here was this cute gal, probably from some upperclass Nepali family, speaking English like it was her native tongue, and here I was, a rube, trying so hard to fit in. She asked us to be seated on a leather sofa. Wow, a leather sofa. Never seen leather sofas before. I felt so awkward. There were these two gals, presumably both St. Marians, who were seated as well. My friend started chatting it up with these gals, and once more, I was left in the dust. I felt uncomfortable. The gals went to St. Mary's , one of the upper echelon schools of Nepal. I started shaking and trembling. I envied them: they oozed with confidence, spoke Angreji like it was their native tongue, and were very career oriented. These gals were every man's wet dream, mine included, but I knew I could never be on par with them. In essence, they were cocky and had impossibly high expectations of men. There was no pleasing them.
So now I was feeling awkward. I was sweating profusely and I felt I did not quite fit in. These were Kathmandu ko elites after all. So I suddenly got up, quickly bolted to the door, got in my car, and left that hellhole for good. As for my "buddy", I never saw him again. A common friend of ours has told me that he got married to a Saint Mary's ko thiti. Wow, a Saint Mary's ko thiti. We all love them, but they're too high-maintenance, if you know what I mean. Hard to please em. Can't see meself with cocky broads.
