Animals being skinned alive. Where is God in the picture? Where is the morality?

Snurp more than 'nepali' perspective it's a dual paradigm from a civilized perspective.

On one hand we 'farm' animals to slaughter them mercilessly for meat and fur, and on another hand we have deep rooted sense of morality from our own experience and discovery to not do something upon others, including animals, that you don't want done onto yourself. We love our animals. Some of them exhibit the same emotions that small kids do.

We, the so called civilized humans, do not want to exert any pain on the animals, yet we party hard and eat meat. As long as we don't have to do the dirty work ourselves, it's considered fine, after all, animals would have met even more harsh end in the jungle by being eaten alive.

Perhaps what is needed is a system of creating meat whereby animals are grown up in a closed system where animals do not gain any consciousness, but only grow biger within the system, so we can use their meat to satisfy our hunger for meat. If you think about all the genetics that go on to ensure fat and plump chickens and other livestock, that kind of production cannot be ruled out. Ending the lives of unconscious animals might be a more palatable solution to us caring humans who despise doing onto animals that we don't want done to us. We are after all animals, with only difference being a developed language which allows us to communicate, think and feel.

 Rethink,

I agree completely. Great points. I was merely reflecting upon our i.e. Nepali society's perception of what we deem inhumane or humane.

As for being humane to animals, there are already labs developing meats from stem cells --- I see a lot of future in that but it will take some time to come to market and humans to enjoy such "artificial" meat.

But I don't think we can live without meat entirely. Evolution suggests that if humans were not meat eaters, our brain wouldn't have developed to the extent and we certainly wouldn't have gotten enough calories from plant based diet to move around and poulate the world emanating from Africa.
