Dear colleagues in Ameriacas, Since King has imposed emergency and the protest is unlikely to happen even in future, we need to send signals to the King that we love democracy more than you. Therefore, I would like to ask your solidarity for DEMOCRACY IN NEPAL and protest against the King in the event of ANA Convention 2005 which is not that far down the road. Those of you, if you have anything already in mind in terms of getting organized for protest please let us know.

What we need is a What we need is a Flower down the barrel of a gun What we need is a What we need is a Flower down the barrel of a gun We don't need no leftists nor we need autocracy Raising a war with terror rising paranoia Developing a culture of fear Surely it's not doing anybody any good around here I say What we need is a what we need is a Flower down the barrel of a gun What we need is a What we need is a Flower down the barrel of a gun Senseless warmongering Will only encourage backlash terrorism Do you think the use of force is wrong? Does it show us how to better get along? I say What we need is a What we need is a Flower down the barrel of a gun What we need is a What we need is a Flower down the barrel of a gun Let's make a prayer for peace Let's hope they can work it out Goering said the public can be dragged along The leaders just need to decide for war We're endangered if we pray for peace But they need to know it's in our best interest I see What we need is a What we need is a Flower down the barrel of a gun What we need is a What we need is a Flower down the barrel of these guns

babajee nobody has the answers for your whys not even you.....with no proof there is no point accusing someone... the king had to give him a deadline.....he cannot say you can take your time to hold the election.....he was unable to meet the deadlines and in this deteriorating situation....i think this is a reasonable move...

"During King Birendra's rule, why do you think, he worked out with prachanda and baburam to start civil war in nepal. " -----> Could be/ could be not. Any hard proof? "Why do you think there were INDIA's BLACK CAT CoMMANDOS during the royal massacre? " ---> One word. BULL SHIT. Nothing personal. Am just attacking your statement, not you, smiply because they are just baloney. Any hard proof? There are 1000000000000000 stories regarding the second one and 1/4 for the first. Kura ta ho jata modiyo modincha, jhan tyaimathi Nepal ma. Agreed Gyane is an asshole, and a thief, who sold so many of our precious artifacts, devi deuta ko murti etc to western world. But, when he took this action, eventhough i despise him, I felt, WASN"T HE ALL POWERFUL BEFORE? WHO IN CURRENT political scenario could stop him from doing or mobilizing what he wanted. Directly or indirectly. Ekduiwota rally, dannga fasad, and girija makune ko bhasaan, but GYANE WOULD get his way. But his action this time puts him directly in the line of fire. In the sense, HE AND HE ALONE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE. He is taking a GREAT RISK, risk of of loosing his throne. What does this mofo netas got to loose. Most of their kids live outside of the nation, if not they have amasses more than plenty to live happily eva afta. Thus, by the nature of the beast alone, I think GYANE wanted to be active. Which democratically not viable, but under the situation NEPAL IS, is just the boost an average disillusioned nepalese needed. Aru kura bhaneko tyastai ho, tyasari nai ho ra tyastari nai ho ;) Aba baki break ke baad IndisGuise:)

BABAJI: It may have been a drama then but I dont' get some of the points that you have stated!! Black Cat cammandos, where do they come from?? may be I'm unaware of this, enlighten me dude!! but yeah as far as you talkin bout king not letting SHERE go for election, I don't agree with you. The reason why king brought SHERE back into power after he sacking him once was to show the BHEDA public that your chosen leader is no good!!to show the public that no matter how big SHARE talks that he can do this and that and make maoist come to the table, he couldn't do s**t

junkie dude, he's not work for peace. if we wanted peace, he would have sat in the table already don't you think? and he is already warning or "using other means." that is no man of peace, if you ask me. Indis: kinda related to your post, I have a theory (yeah, yeah, only a theory). the question is why did G do all this drama the first time around and why did he not do what he has done now? My theory is that this bought him time to shore up his support. At the same time, a lot of money was poured into the army from India, US, UK, everywhere. So, that made the army very strong. Which untimately made him stronger. What do you guys think? I mean, he has had this power all the while as Indisguise says. But why this two step process?

ANA is a umbrella organization to bring all nepalese in countries of Americas, so it should not be politicized. No matter what we belive, trust or have faith in, if we need to do politics we need to find political platform not ANA.

"kinda related to your post, I have a theory (yeah, yeah, only a theory). the question is why did G do all this drama the first time around and why did he not do what he has done now? " --------> Tired, although a theory, natheless worth answering:) Why he did this 'drama' NOW is, because earlier he was not ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE. He would not get credit if he succeeded. Whoever would have been in govt. would have got all the milage and hence, cemented his position in history and nepali politics. BUT NOWWWWWWWWWWW, it's all HIS. He knows if he solves this problem, he would be hailed as a HERO in true sense. He is a CHOR DAKA TOO, he knows how to manipulate (But that's for another day). Now, he can not blame the spectators, just coz he could not play his games right. Got it? THought so. Jai Nepal, IndisGuise:)

Tired: that is what politics is all about. He had to speculate the situation and move accordingly!! politics is just like the board o hess where you gotta make each move with the furthest calculation that you possibly can. He is doing the same! And as far as pouring the money in army goes, don't worry dude he won't be able go get a long way if he can't convience india, uk, and states to support him.

They say that smoke is in the air, people running everywhere Where does love go when the hope is taken over by despair See the innocent may die, see them hurting their own kind Listen to the people scream, are they just out of their own mind When it?s all been said and done it?s too late to turn and run You just sit back in your chair, can?t stop what?s already begun When you?re not the only one, who?s feels there?s way too many guns Everyone is in despair, can?t stop what?s already begun See the war on the TV, doesn?t seem that real to me Cause everyday there?s people dying people trying to get free Is it worth all of the pain, is it even worth the game It?s a fight for independence, see it time and time again

junkie jyu: i cannot relate to your example at all. no one is BORN a CEO. he rises to that by the merits of his action. and of course, he will try to solve problems. but he is responsible. he is answerable. he is answerable to the board of the company. he is answerable to the shareholders. they have the power to oust him, if they don't like him. our king is just king because he was born into a certain family. his past certainly does not merit him the position to lord over me. he is not my god. it would be blasphemy to call a human a god. and after all that, i could still take it if he was answerable to someone, if someone could voice dissent and take him out if they don't like him. nepal jindabaad

Nepal need to learn how to be indipendent. this is the perfect time for it............. we should support the king jai desh jai naresh

The opinions are divided: against, pro and neutral on what is going on in Nepal right now. Some have suggestion that ANA is not a political organization. These concerns are expected and understandable. But, COLLEAGUES let me make one thing very clear that kings have been ruling Nepal since the 18th century. I have not read in history that neither of them were committed for Nepalese people. Nowhere in the world, King is driving and motivating force for the democrac, peace and development. Therefore they are kept under restrict rules and regulation. We failed to to that in 1990. When state's coercive power is in control of monarch and monarch can stop state functioning like this, I don't see democracy there. We never had democracy. The struggle for democracy is imminent. Those of you who expressed pro-king opinion and criticised the political practices since the last 14 years in embroiling in corruption and failing providing jobs and relate that to the Maoist insurgency, you just cannot use teleology and relate that span of time to the current political crisis. Those 14 years were the years people had opportunity to express their conccerns supressed since the begining of the inception of Nepal as a country. The root problem is having Monarchy. My idea is very simple. I believe in supremacy of people and want people achieve the highest position in the state from their struggle and credentials they build in thier society so that the coming generation if not we can expect to achive that positon. The King coup d'eta is a blocakade advancing to that direction and we need to protest against this. Colleagues, though ANA is not a political organization, we can protest on the sideline not distrubing thier program. WE WILL GET ORGANIZED FOR THE CAUSE OF PEOPLE, BY PEOPLE AND FOR PEOPLE.

tired ji: that eg was for your previous question......well i dont really know about any country in the world where you choose your King based on a person's merit. but once u're a king u automatically play the role of a CEO.....whether u like it or not and he is answerable to all the Nepalis...duh?? everyone knows that he even has the risk of losing his throne....go to bbc.com....and ppl make mistakes....its just that we should not repeat the same mistake....if someone is trying to change for a better cause he deserves a chance....
