It might seem fancy for some but for most of us in sajha, seeing hindi words in the posts is just distressful. I don't know what some of these guys feel, but it's more stupid as it's deteriorating our language and culture. I know it's hard to be unaffected with the big ass courtry next to us but least we can limit ourself in the public forum as SAJHA so as not to emphasize it further and destroy our heritage altogether. So please, let's start and be proud of being a Nepali.

yeah, in ancient times the valley was called 'nepal'. but todays nepal extends way beyond those hills folks. dont forget that more than half the population of nepal lives geographically closer to the indian border than your precious valley. so to all yall who say 'no hindi' i say ठिक हे भाइ, आपको हिन्दी पसन्द ना आए तो आपकि नफरत आपको मुबारक हो। हमतो हिन्दी भि बोललेतेहें, नेपाली पनी बोल्छु, and english is no problem either.

Even i agree we should not use hindi language unless we dont know nepali or english. The fact that we watch hindi movies doesnot mean we become indebted to india . We dont watch movies for free, they take money from us, its a business. I have no problem people speaking english becuase it is a world language, but i see no point why we nepalse have to resort to hindi language when we can communicate so well in nepalese and english.

Though indians are selling vegetables in KTM, while nepalese, though being customers, have to speak Hindi. Do the indian counterparts in Delhi speak with the "bahadur" watchmen in Nepalese? The vegetable vendors should be the one speaking "tuteko-phuteko" Nepali rather than us trying to speak Hindi. Being able to speak Hindi should be an asset, but shouldn't be a necessity.
Our neighbors in Bangladesh, though got help from India to establish their motherland, though know Hindi well, never ever converse with Indians in Hindi. Well they are proud of their Bangla tongue and have a universal laguage called "English" to speak to foreigners. Our Nepalese friends in Darjeeling, Assam are so much proud of Nepali language that they celebrate "Bhanubhakta jayanti" more gallantly than in KTM. We should find ourselves intelligent to know a foreign language, but shouldn't use it as our identity. But after seeing all the things going on in Nepal, when half of the politicians think India is their home, prefer indian attire to Nepalese, what can we expect. To learn more languages is always beneficial and intelligent but to use it over our own mother tongue is preposterous.

i find this discussion funny. time and again we pour our anger towards the indian movie, news channel or indian actrors and actresses for saying what they said. For instance, if you all happen to remember one of the top actress of bollywood once said that Nepal is a part of india and there was a lot of anger in the country.............. and there has been a lot instances like that that would make us feel inferrior. we should learn from bangladesh. Just tell me why wouldn't anyone new from India think when he/she sees big indian product hoarding right in the major roads of the capital (let's not talk outside ktm), hears even a taxi driver speak in hindi so as to tickle extra tips. it's kinda confusing situation but if we go on like this then we would have very less difference between the two countries, definately then we would lose our identity.

I'll speak what I want to, I 'll do what I like to do..Its personal choice. If Ican learn I'll speak french and post it in frech. If I can learn other language/culture and appriciate it I dont loose my identity rather I should be proud of it. Learn to appriciate and be happy. What Nepali identity are we talking here. If anybody thinks nepal is a failed state and ashamed of being nepalese they can speak whatever they like.If anybody thinks that person who sells tarkari is indian because they looks like indian then they are mistaken. The fact that majority of these people who looks like indian doesnot make them indian.Even i speak in hindi with my indian friends. But that doesnot mean we should post in hindi in the messageboard which is meant to be for nepalese.I have no problem with english as it is a world language and in english majority of websites are based.

Why should two nepalese talk in hindi where every reader is nepalese. We are losing identity and it is dishartening that few of our own nepali friend blatantly supports speaking hindi with each other .
