hey Jeffali!! Let me make myself clear on my stand ..... I am an communist not maoist........ All forms of communism that we know in Nepal from UML
to Maoism are not at even close to the dictative communism that US
depicts..... Communism is a philosophy which aspires working class
people, suppressed people to come together and strive for the upheavel
of the society. It isn't necessary to have one party dictator
government for communism. Communism is not the set of rules, its a
philosophy..... it should be set more relevant to the society .......
It can be and has been modified in the past in different communist
countries to make the government more democratic and friendly to the
social structure of the country, basically sticking with the
fundamental communist principle i.e. upheaval of the community.
Communism in Nepal is more like democrates in USA or liberals in Europe
who believe in government's direct role in the economy of the country
(it is different that taking control of Econony).......... But what
made nepal's maoist, a communist, is the way they got the power that
is by engaging in a direct guirella revolution or people's
revolution...... Moaist should have to be nuts to try to make
nepal next cuba or china.....I believe that they would make strict
punitive laws against corruption, women trafficking and hooliganisms.
It would some extend limits the privileges of corrupt and antisocial
people. I believe they are more democratic............ than the
democracy of past couple of decade that we always bragged about.......
At least there democracy is enjoyed by all irrespective of caste or
region or economic status..... Unlike current democracy which favors
landlords, upper caste people and enslaves the poor.
It may be hard to believe for you but things aren't not as wonderful
as you think they were in Nepal..... People of lower caste are still
not allowed to use same water source just outside valley and there are
still enslaved kamaiyas and madhesi's representation in government job is almost nil. .....
I won't say it would all change at once..... Nepalese gave chance to
other parties before and they all failed to meet the expectation
....truely speaking, they weren't even close.....Somehow those parties
succeeded to get votes in the second election also..... But finally
people showed that they are not gullible and have gave their verdict
........ they want change..... and they know only maoist can bring
that change.....

Thanks for your explanation prad07. You are talking about a philosophy called 'Socialism' and misunderstanding this as 'Communism'. 'Communism' makes the real meaning of socialism to be more conservative and restrictive. Socialism can't be restricted to some individual's created rules like Maoism, Marxism or Leninism. These are communisms very very restrivted form of socialism which makes it's leaders believe that they have right to do anything they want. Communists assume that only they are taking socialist approach and others are not. They are damn wrong at this point. They give guns to the hand of illiterate and poor people and claim that they are uplifting the society. And they believe that by misleading uneducated poor people can they bring real change in society. And believe that these people should govern the countrys economy. And what happens in real world is that the practice they adopt actually remains at a distance from the actual philosophy. If communists are real socialists, they should not kill even a single individual. Nobody has right to kill people. There is something called 'Humanity' that comes before Socialism. Remember, individuals make societies and the an individuals rights are more fundamental than the Socialism principles.
Communists start with the illiterate poor peoples community who does not even know what are the differences between an individuals rights and what the heck is the socialism. They put all the garbage in their mind and put them on war to be killed or kill others. And this is the most condemnable thing of communism. Bear these things in mind before you discuss about special circumstances of any countrys politics. If the approach that a so called 'Communist' party takes is free from this dark side of humanity and socialism, then can they really talk about prevailing corruption and corrupted individuals, undevelopment and other concerns of a country. It takes time for any political system to mature. If you see history of the world, other countries have come through even more dire situations than what nepal now is. We still are in better shape coz we have never lost our sovereignty. We will get over this situation some day.
At this point I really don't know which direction will Nepals politics go under new scenarios. But any party, if it kills even a single individual, should never be a party to govern the country, whatever big claims they make about any change. If they can't save life of their people, they don't worth anything.

gada_gudi, timro dimag ma pani geada gudi bhariyeko chha jasto chha. I'm not in favor of Gyan kaji. And I do condemn the killer approach taken by anybody, whoever it is. You might have learned socialism from book. I don't give a damn about socialism written in a book coz that's written by somebody like Mao or Lenin or may be You (who knows !!). I believe in socialism by our experience of society and nation coz I live in a society and every society has it's principles and philosophies developed from thousands of years of social practices. If you have learned socialism from your professor and you are boasting based on that few lines you leaned before your exam day, go play marbles. You are also one of those 'rataieko patu'.

And yeah about Socialism or Capitalism it all comes from book :-) the book of philosophy or economics!! if you fail to ignore this, and still want to prove you point without any reasoning to back with!! then i got noting to say to you......how can you understand without reading....how can you understand Society without studying Anthropology....how can you become a doctor without knowing a biology :-) DAS KAPITAL or THE CAPITAL was written by Carl Marx....its called Communist Manifesto..its a Economics book also if you know what i mean!! Ani by the way being ignorance won't do good to anybody!! P.S i am not a pol-sci or economics major...ma tha Engineering Student parey :-)

I'm also not into pol sc. But I don't think I need to learn Carl Marx to understand basic things like 'Killing people is bad.' Wouldn't you have a different version of statements if you had anybody in your family affected in any way by maoists in last 10 years. Would you be welcoming Prachanda with garlands now ?. Ask anybody from a family whose any member has been killed by maoists if they voted maoists. I don't think even that Communist Manifest anywhere recommends to kill people for the sake of uplifting the society (You'd better know coz u seem familiar with it).
I don't consider not reading that one book is an ignorance at all. There are thousands of books on philosophy or economics lying around. They sound good to your ears. Learn books, but look beyond the hard covers. We have seen economics of communist countries around the world. They must have followed that Communist Manifesto to drive their economy. Don't u think so ?
P.S. I am not stereotyped.
