Hello everyone, I just want to warn all nepai in the USA that Kali Travel is not a relaible ticketing agent for international flights. I bought ticket last year and was troubled a lot. 1. They charged me more money than promised. 2. My fligjt schedule was messed up. Total flight duration being 62 hours (22 hours more than orginal flight schedule). 3. Because of poor communication with the agent, my tickets got lost and I bought another ticket (Imagine a student paying around 4500 dollars to go home). 4. Later I was charged $100 for refund of one of the tickets. 5. The amount I am entitled to get for over-charging is never sent to me. 6. The agent now never ansewrs my telephone nor does replies my emails. So beware and think before dealing with this agent. thanks Prakash Ji for making everyone aware of Kali Travels. I was giving Kali travels some benefit of doubts until I read their explanation. The explanation was for a pathetic excuse. Basnyat1 did say that Her husband had to go through many surgieries. That could be excusable if she had closed her travel agency. She never said she did not sell any tickets, book any tickets. Basnyat1, can you please explain why you were able to do your other business but prakash's refund? I think getting own money back for one is more important than your business.

We have responded once and if mr shiwakoti would like to resolve this matter as mentioned in my earlier response, pls feel free to contact me directly. Please note that the itinerary you posted online was a rough draft. That was not the itinerary for the 1st ticket that was issued. The system does not allow for the ticket to be issued in such manner. The 1st ticket that was issued gave you an arrival date of Dec 12 but with a 22 hr transit. Refer to an excerpt of your email to us last Oct 25, 2005. ... I got my ticket today .... everything is OKAY BUT ..... my flight from BKK to KTM is on 12th Dec. Now, I will leave wichita on 9th and reach KTM on 12th ......... one day after my scheduled time. ...Here is the flight details we agreed upon, everything is fine EXCEPT I have BKK- KTM flight on 12th DEC at 10:30 AM. please Figure it out and let me know what could be done to avoid my 22 hrs Transit in BKK.... Remember, when your ticket was issued and we had several correspondences, we were in Nepal at that time and no matter where we were, I still responded to your concerns and once I recvd that message, I agreed to redo your ticket immediately--even though you knew about the 22 hr transit, I agreed to redo it and pay for the change fee myself. Mr. Shiwakoti ,remember December last year was peak season for your travel date and seats were hard to get and that was the schedule you agreed initially agreed upon. Nevertheless, we agreed to change and we requested that you mail the ticket. As things were not complicated enough, the ticket never got to the sales office, it got lost. Whenever a ticket is lost, the airline has to charge you a fee, lost ticket fee and must wait 3 to 6 months for credit toyour account since airline has to prove it was unused. Now to address the other issues, yes we will not change our policy. Booking is first priority. We have clients that need to leave due to an emergency-health, death, business etc and that is why we have this system that we do bookings first, accounting last. Accounting is last or refund request is last since we are also dependent on the airlines for their own accounting with us. Even commission checks take 2 months to receive at times with some airlines. Truly I am dismayed that after all the effort and courtesy I have extended to you and your wife all those months that you chose this method to resolve your concerns. Again, pls contact me directly. his issue is not about refund--since the airline processed his refund already--he wants to be reimbursed for the fee he incurred--the change fee and the lost ticket fee

I dont know what prakash ji was expecting.I travelled to Nepal in May.I had an open ticket from Nepal and settled the itenery with thai airways here in USA.I had to stay for 12 hours in the BKK airport.I cannot complain that i had to wait so long because that's what i agreed on.Same holds true for you.Grow up buddy!!

I was not expecting anything like " the change fee and the lost ticket fee " rather I just wanted the fee that was over-charged to me than promised. But now, I dont even want that back becuase I have already wasted more hours than it worths for $90. Now I just want others to know what could be the consequences. I have never complained about 2nd ticket. I just showed "root" of the problem with 1st ITIN. It is of course dismaying that she says that was just a rough draft. Can she show the final version of ticket ITIN emailed to me before ticket was issued. The chronological occurence of evets are: 1. She emailed me the ticket as I posted (which she says draft) 2. I paid for that. 3. She left to Nepal 4. I got ticket which was different than what I paid for. (I was supposed to land on 11th december but due to 22 hrs unexpected transit at BKK I would land on 12th) 5. It was like going through hell to fix the matter and getting home on time. Thats what i have to say. All the best Kali Travels for bright business days ahead. I dont need any help from you any more. Others are free to make their own choice.

The same thing happened to three of my frens. Kali Travels lost their tickets. Their credit card was already charged. They were compelled to buy other tickets to catch Dashain. Is it some kind of scam run by Kali Travels for extra money? Do they sell the tickets to someone else in a hurry for extra profit? They know that nepalese wont sue them. They might get wrong one of these days.

This is exactly for what I started this thread. I dont want any settlement with kali travels and dont want any money from them. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. See friends, I am not alone ... .there are other persons who are "wrongly handled". Its not about whether or not I was treated badly, rather the gist of entire discussion is to reflect you can be one of the victims some day. This will surely help others to make good choice while going to Nepal.

Dude, I as well as some of the visitors of sajha do not understand your concern at all. I am sorry but i think you are just trying to dump everyproblem to someone else's head. you are a responsible person, if you can come here in the US and do all that you are doing by yourself how can you not be a little bit careful ? you say that you paid for the first itenerary but if there was a problem how is it that you did not look it over when you got the itenerary? Did you not review it? If you did why didn't you solve the problem before you paid? you kow as a customer it is your responsibility to check what are you paying for before you pay? Also instead of debating at the pubic site why can't you take the matter to responsibility party? talk to the agency in private, no matter the agency screwed up or not, it is matter of courtesy that you do not destroy their reputation. if you can prove that the agency is frauding then sue them and get your money as well as a lot more. It is just a suggestion not anything personal.

What the hell are you talking about Norm? If Prakash Ji had not posted his bad experience with Kali travel here in Sajha we would not have know about their horrible costumer service. Sajha is a good place to put these kind of complain so that other people don't get cheated. I really appretiate Sajha and Prakash ji for this thread. For some reason you sound like Kali travels' agent.

i dont respond to forum stuff so much...but had to reply on this one .... i had a bad experience with kali travel too...they r bunch a liars over there at kali travel...my buddy got stuck in nepal coz of them as they had itinary with restrictions which we were not advised....anyhow...i wouldnt recommend buying ticket from them even though they mite have good deals but its not worth it..pay $100 more but get it from reliable source...not from ppl who donno what they r doing... peace sagar

Well said ANAji and muchos thanks to Prakashji for sharing his experience with us. We as members of this forum owe it to ourselves to warn others about any unscupulous business activites that we encounter (especially the ones other Nepalis are prone to use)...At least now I know where NOT to send my relatives and friends for their ticketing needs.
