lol@playa how is your soccer practice going on? Peter Gammons and Harold Reynolds are awesome. Nomar is a true professional player and good teammates who gave 100% effort and never been in trouble. I am sure everybody would think Red Sox lost in the trade. We all know Nomar was synonymous to Red Sox past 8 years he been with the team. I happen to like to him very much as well even he plays with the team I detest. He is a true all star with 2 time AL batting championship and commands $20 mil/year salary. I have not got a chance to watch baseball tonite few days. Did they talk about RAMON CURSE as well? I thought I was being creative about it, I guess not :s

what you baseball fans think of Edgar Martinez? The 18 year Mariner's Designated Hitter said he is retiring after the year. Martinez, the greatest DH in our era, was a seven-time All-Star and batted over .300 in 10 seasons, leading the AL in hitting in 1992 and 1995. He is one of the best right handed hitter according to Lou Pinillea, managed Martinez from 92-03. His career BA is .312 with 306 HR and 1246 batted in. is he a hall of famer?

He doesn't belong in the Hall. In his first 8 years, he hardly did anything. He has NEVER won an MVP award. Doesn't have enough HR in this HR era. Only 6 seasons with 100+ RBIs which not enough considering he played 18 years. So, he is not a Home run hitter, run producer, or base stealer. He his forte is an awesome batting average, BUT he only has 2 batting titles. Ok, if you hit for average then you should at least have 3,000 hits which he doesn't. Plus, the Hall of Fame voters will not look kindly about him DHing.

20 games left for the season. What you think of your teams? Which teams are going to make the final 4 from each division? Hereýs my thought on the Red Sox - Red Sox which seemed to be destined for the 2nd place in the AL East is inching towards the first place NY Yankees. Since they traded Nomar, they are playing better. Their big duo of Ramirez and Ortiz is carrying the offense and the starters are the in the best form. Shilling is going to win the AL Cy Young award. Pedro is back and Derek Lowe is pitching better as well. ý AL Wild card Angels ý Another team which seemed to be lost in the mid season and playing a great ball games these days. They didnýt have the full strength for most of the season and still played great. With Glaus back in the lineup, itýs different team. Erstad, Garret, Glaus, Gurrero and Salmon can score runs enough to beat any teams in the league. If their starter can pitch well, this team is hard to beat. AL West Leader Twins ý Santana is promising. Donýt think this team will get any farther. Not enough offense to beat other heavyweights in the division. AL Central Leader Yankees ý This team was 10 games ahead 2nd place Red Sox just few weeks ago. Yankees have suspect starters and none of them pitching well beside the El Duque who was not even in the roster when the season started. He is the only good news for Yankees pitching staffs and he seems to be #1 starter if playoffs to being. Moose have struggled all season long and canýt depend on him. Finally getting back Kevin Brown was good news but he is lost (god knows for how long) with his own stupidity. He should be fine for his behavior. Getting Loaiza from White Sox is a bust. And weather is not helping either. They playing double heard tonite which they been trying to avoid. If they want to win championship, their starting pitchers need to pitch better. Kudos to Sheffield, Matsui, Gordon and Mariano for their fabulous performance so far. AL East Leader Angels over Red Sox (5 games) Yankees over Twins ( 4 games) ALCS Yankees over Angels (7 games) MVP - V. Gurrerro (if Angels make to the playoffs) else Gary Sheffiled Cy Young ý J. Santana (awesome 2nd half) 9/10

Its that time of the year again all the baseball fans have been eagerly waiting for. One of the most heated rivalries in sports between NY Yankees and Boston Red Sox takes a full swing starting tonight. Just last month, Sox were 10 ý games away and playing for the consolation wild card prize instead they are aiming for unheard of AL East division. They are only 3 ý games away. El Duque who passed on Sox more salary to be with Yankees will be pitching and Arroyo will try to out duel him. Itýs surprising that El Duque, with 8-0 record, is the Yankees ace since he was not even in the roster when season began. Yankees signed him with the base salary of $500 K with incentive loaded contract. Oh boy! Wasnýt Billy Conors, Yankees pitching guru, right about him or what? El Duque is the only good reason Yankees can be proud of their starting pitchers rotation. Sheffield and DJ2 have been hitting pretty well lately. If Yankees need to secure the AL division, their star studded batsmen (AROD, Shefflield, DJ2, Matsui, Bernie) need to play a non error game. The game of the series will be on Sunday. Mussina and Pedro will try to outduel each other. Mussina has been pitching well lately (3 games?) after he came out from the IL and we all know about Pedro. He has lost his speed with the ball and cannot locate pitches as he used to but he still got the passion to win especially against Yankees. There is no lost love between Pedro, who dragged the beloved Yankees bench coach Don Zimmer last year and the Yankees batsmen. This is the last hurray for the Red Sox. If they cannot win this year, there will be many many more years to assemble the team they have done this year. Let the battle begin! ******************* If you are a sports fan there could be no better weekend than this. MLB - Yankees vs Red Sox NFL ý Colts vs Titans College Football - Pitts vs Huskers Boxing - Oscar De La Hoya vs Bernard Hopkins Golf - Ryder Cup

The Red Sox were so close last year...but Pedroýs superhuman arm tried out. Personally, I think it was the right decision to leave him in. You go with your ace in 7th inning or ace closer, not the other clowns in the bullpen (no Foulke last year) Itýs put up or shut up for the Red Sox this year. Pedro, Varitek, Lowe, Mendoza, Williamson, Kapler (Nomar gone) are free agents Next couple of years will be down years.... Maybe Sheff or Arod will get bean by Pedro on Sunday. Definitely, a must watch game.

Bonds hits 700!! Woah thats not age--Its HRS, I bet even the greatest steroids can't keep him alive for that long. Anyway now that he has reached 700 and will most likely beat the most HRs record, the question remains if he is THE BEST player ever to play the game? His attitude, steriod contoversies and arrogant behavior have caused trouble and it is justful to say that he is not a great role model to many. The fact is the guy plays for himself..he is being himself..and ofcourse he doesnt care what peopl think about him. As for me I think Bonds is just one World Series title away from gaining that respect he truly deserves. The man is 40 and imagine how many players would rock like that when they hit big 4-0. Impossible..aint it? He could still go for for another 4-5 years from the look of it but I think he will retire once he slightly overcomes that record, which I believe will be surpassed at the end of 2006 season. Congrats to Bond. I can't wait for postseason to start as Baseball is always a lazy game until it gets hot in the playoffs.

Damn..... people think Red Sox are not that all around good team. Don't you guys realize people will prefer to see the Red SOx game to Yankees Game. AX bro.. maybe you do not follow the Statistics. Dude wakeup.... what are you talking about when you say THe Yankees have the better Lineup?? the REd Sox have a good Starting Rotation only?? and that a team cannot win with just a good starting rotation + that example of the Atlanta BRaves?? Bro.. you got relax and stop cracking the craps here. At least not against the BOSOx. THe whole world knows REd SOx have one of the best Starting rotation to go with One of the best Lineups. And oh yeah..you can now add the Bullpen also. Talking about Batting Lineup? Who do you think is gonna win the AL MVP?? 1. Manny 2. Ortiz 3. Sheffield 4. Jeter. 5. Mora Don't you know that REd SOX has the second best Batting Average in the Whole League? Don't you know The Red SOx have the Most Runs Scored? Don't you know THE REd SOX are the 4th most HR hitting team (mostly because of the High Green Monster taking away a lot of HR hits)? Don't you know Our defense had improved incredibly after the mid-season? Don't you know our bench players are also amongst the best in the league? ANd the Starting Rotation.. you guys had spoken out right. Who is gonna win the AL Cy young Award? 1. C. Schilling 2. J. Santana. 3. M. Mulder. 4. P. Marinez. 5. K. Rogers. Besides, our starting rotation lead (if not must be second) in ERA. We also have the most games ( I guess ) won by the starters combined. So, 1, 2 punch with Pedro and Schilling with a mixed variety of SINKERS and KNUCKlLEBAlls from Lowe and Wakefield.. who can survive the wrath of the RED SOX in the post-season Series. Yeah, throw Big-Unit in the Yankees Rotation and they can give us some competition. By the way don't the Yankees' have one of the most vulnerable starting rotation in the AL? I know Yankees faithful were swallowing their saliva during the mid-season.... in hope that they might be able to land Big-Unit. Instead they end up briningin Loaiza. Supposed to be a great pick but........ is he even in the rotation now? And another good reason for the Yankees to cheer about is the Loss of NOMAr. But what they didn't realize is that THe BOSTON REd SOX play as a team and not as individuals. AX was saying that we do not have a good team cHemistry. What does that refer to?? Comments made by Millar in the off-season?? come on .. he was being very honest about his opinions. Our players support each other like nobody else. You see one player hit a game changing hit and the whole team will come out of the DUG Out to congratualte him. Similarly, when a pitcher have a good outing, everybody will cheer for him. You put someone in the lineup for one single game, he will play his best. Damn.. that's what you meant by team chemistry. And MOST IMPORTANlY to the Yankees fan. Even though we lost the series this weekend, We still have the lead in the year; Boston Red SOx: 9 NY Yankees : 7 THree more to go. Do I need to say MORe?? GO Boston go. COwboys Up. Jai Nepal

ANd oNe more thing?? With that BIG SAlARY CAP... some 170 Millions/year, shouldn't the yankees be winning the World Series every year? See which teams beat them in the post season the last 3 years. 1. D-Backs (AX bro...... D-Backs won the series by virtueof their Strong Starting rotation. You can say Johnson and Schilling combo.) 2. Angels (damn their Salary Cap was about one quarter of that to the Yankees) 3. Marlins (Damn that's the team with even smaller Salary Cap). Damn... THe yAnkees sucked big time. I will not make the post season prediction right now because none knows who is gonna come out of the AL West and how the teams are going to be ranked. Damn the BIRds (The Orioles.... they are acutally beating us in the series this year) go COwboys. Jai Nepal

BoSox are a good team but not the same caliber as Yankees. The were hammered last weekend and the second game was over by first innings!! Whats up with that?? I don't think BoSox are capable of dethroning the Yanks....although BoSox do have an edge when it comes to bullpen. Like ProudNepali said..Yanks are the team with highest payroll and they should be winning every year..TRUE...and they do pretty well almost every post season.they havent' won in last few years but have given some good post season memories...talking about BoSOX..I think they also have one of the highest payrolls in the game..correct me if I am wrong but I wonder why don't win as much ??...why havent they won in such a long time?? they have good players... last year it was Mr.Boone that ruined the party for SOx and this year it will be someone else..BoSox can only dream about winning this year..esp when they traded Nomar..I was dissapointed..I liked that guy although this season was kinda injury plagued one.. go Yanks... go... atleast banking on Yanks is a safe thing

i guess the yanks n the sox fans get too much caught up in their heated battles that they tend to forget none of the teams have won the world series in the last 5yrs...oh wait the sox haven't won it for.....ok i donýt wanna go there to worsen the pain :p and yanks this year were pathetic at times by losing 21-0 to the indians??? something like that....anyways my point is this is the year minnesota twins are gonna be the team to watch...they are young yet experience (AL central champs 3yrs in a row), they got great pitching ('04 Cy Young winner Y. Santana & ever so cool n calm B. Radke), they got timely hitting n good power and their fielding alwayz been one of the league's best. so my pick for this year's world series are the twins....any takers??

Proud bro whatýs all that? as i checked the AL East standing, Red Sox are still 4 and 1/2 games behind the 26th time world Champions Yankees :) Red Sox are 2nd class team in AL East :) Proud bro, talking about Salary Red Sox stand 2nd to you know who. The Boss gets the players he want and his team plays in every World Series. May be John Henry needs to sell the team to other rich people if they can't afford good players. I hope Yankees plays Red Sox on ALCS. I get the pleasure watching Yankees beat Red Sox every year and especially the way it ended last year. Let's not forget Vlad Gurerro from Anahiem Angels. He got the pretty impreesive nos. If Angels makes to the playoffs, he should bag the MVP award else Sheffield will win. Oh yeah about the Minneasota Twins. They are goign to the playoffs to lose. They are only good on uncompetitive AL Central. Santana is impressive is year. You want to know why coz he is a ex Yankees ;) He should wint his year none talkign about NL Central??? teams for the wild card are so tight. I hope Houston will make it but they have tuff schedule ahead. Cubs have better chances, hope Nomar (ex red Sox) will make it to world series, what do you say Proud bro???
