when they had the likes of gullit,van basten,koeman,rijkkard playin' together,they were short of a good quality winger,which put them down(1990,1994).....
lateron after 1998, holland was regarded one of da worlds best team with bergkamp,overmars,davids,hasselbaink,stam,van der sar blah blah ........but they lacked one big thing......PASSION.........only dedicated to their clubs........

Defense is troublesome for Holland right now. Personally, I dont think holland could qualify for 2006 . Van Basten has publicly stated that he's worried about their defense...so you are spot on to point that out as a weakness. I wonder why peopple call dutch football "total football", portugese national team "brazil of europe".......
i wont be surprised if alan smith starts alongside rooney against newcastle united,FA cup semifinal.Van Nistelrooy is out of form.....most of the dutch players are highly rated,
