I want to drop in some few words regarding newuser's comment on CHELSEA V/S BEYERN game.

What is your point? I watched the game but I didn't feel that in anyway. First of all, that game reminded me of Brazil v/s England game. After Michel Owen scored a goal, whole of the England team began defending. Is that how you play football? Had they played the way they should have, they would have won the game but they didn't. In the same way, Chelsea lost yesterday because they started defending after they scored through Lampard. Bayern were simply unlucky. Chelsea could have been easily eliminated. They were pissing their pants when Scholl scored the thrid goal and you are saying Chelsea let Bayern score. Are you out of your mind? We are talking about Champions League bro, not a domestic tournament.

Chelsea were 2 goal up from the first leg and one up in the second till the end of the game so there were quiet relaxing. They had nothing to loose.
See Chelsea are a very good team with first team starter. Yesterday, they were lazing off. I wouldn't argue with you except telling that they are going to win Champions League this year. Just see them play. Specially when Arjen Robben and Damien Duff are fully fit.

I agree with you. Its a very conservative approach to play defense when you scored just one goal, and then sit back and let the opposition get you. This way, the opposition team gets plenty of opportunity to have a go at you, figuring out a way to break the deadlock, through various chances. Most likely they will score at the end of the day. Therefore I agree with prominent football pundits who say, "attack is the best form of defense".

Italians are ideal to situations like this, but they have a tremendous defense, and it has worked for them plenty of times during their history of defensive football. The one instance, I remember was in the semi-final encounter against the Dutch at Amsterdam Arena in the Euro 2000. It was an outright defense against one of the best attacking offense and in their home turf. But that day, Italian defenders in the likes of Maldini and Nesta showed as all thier unbreakable prowess, and prevailed. Being an Orange Army, I admired their skills. But it was definitely a conservative approach. But, we have to be very careful to criticize when it works.

Chelsea are a formidable line up. I think the return of Robben will see them being the attacking side that they are. Mourinho, the only bad apple, in a bunch of exciting players, will come out firing on all cylinders in their next match up. They have I think the better chance of lifting the Euro Championship than any other team. They are definitely missings the organized and entertaining football that took them to the prime of the English premiership, through Robben and Duff.

Credit however should go to Frank Lampard, as football writers keep telling us, the game will be won and lost in the midfield. Ballack, is a much better midfielder in my opinion than Lampard. But Frank Lampard at the moment has a desire, drive and skills that far outweighs anything that Ballack could do, or Ronaldinho could have done, in their last encounter against Barcelona.

Well newuser, I am not saying that Chelsea is not a good team nor have I dismissed the chances of Chelsea winning the Champions league. It is a possibility. My earlier posting was all about yersterday's martch and your comment on letting Bayern score for the sake of sympathy. I just couldn't agree with you at that point.

As of yet, no one can sure who will win the UEFA Champions League. It all depends who they play. Should Liverpool go on to Semis today, I can imagine Chelsea at the final but if Juventus qualifies for the Semis then its a hard prediction.

Btw, I think Chelsea is what it is today because of Mourinho. I know he is an arrogant prick but that is a different thing. Its his skill, vision as a coach and tactics that counts afterall.

You want only Real and Bayern and Milans and Man U having good players and winning everything? Learn from Chelsea. The team has been developed from hard work not from money only. There are other teams paying more for players than Chelsea has been doing.
WHo says Maurinho is a bad apple? he is a coaching genius. 3 trophies 2 years ago with porto, 4 last year with the same team and now heading for 3 with Chelsea. He is the best coach football has ever produced. He does what is needed for his club's win and that is what matters most. Intimidation is an art and every successful coaches do that guys. Try to understand modern football.
