This is my first trip to abroad via Hongkong. I had travelled many times abroad via India (New Delhi , II airport), at that time there was no alternatives for me. Its due to nearest availabe route, cheap and just OK. I wasnot in trouble in Delhi,so much but i had seen many nepalese hav problem (from the Delhi Police and Airlines staff).
Problems:
1. Airlines staffs comes very late to take into transit area.
2. They first take all documents and passports and tickets (keta dhoti Hero and Keti haru ramp ma catwalk.)
3. Finally, before the 1.5 hrs of flight police man came and he takes PP,Ticket and Documents, university, invitation and Nepal Immigration stamp on the PP. They ask many questions.
eg.
a. Why are going US/Can/ Eup.
b. Documents (Of course in Nepal Immigration , if ur document is scan they disagree of its originality but scan garera name thpera lyaeko !!!!).
c. How many money Do u have?? cash/TC/ VISA int.
d. Where u stay?? address
e. They bring the luggage ther and re-scaning an re validating ( IF UR LUGGAGE TAG IS MISTAKELY VIA OTHER AIRPORT, U WILL NOT GET IT THERE) SO FIRST SEARCH UR BAGGAGE, WHETHER IT IS OPENED???
f. fill up the form.
g. if u r traveling by air India, u ask for launch at Ashoka hotel. (they give to Dhotis only, I asked why not Nepalis, he told nobody ask, so ~~~~)
h. Other harrasment in luggage and boarding pass.
SO MY SUGGESTION TO ALL , IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE TAKE VIA HONGKONG ROUTE::
WHY:
1. U WILL GET DIRECT FLIGHT, NO NEED OF HONGKONG VISA FOR NEPALIS TRANSIT.
2. UR LUGGAGE DIRECT REACH TO DESTINATION, NO RE-VALIDATION REQUIRE.
3. U WILL GET ALL THROUGH BOARDING PASS, AT KATHMANDU AIRPORT.
4. U CAN UPGRADE TO FIRST CLASS, IF TRAVELING TO US/CAN/AUS ROUTE, BUT NEED REQUEST. (FREE.)
5. IN HONGKONG, U HAVE FREE INTERNET SPOTS, IF U HAVE LAPTOP, ITS FREE WI-FI ALL OVER HK AIRPORT. BUT U NEED UNIVERSAL ADAPTER, 3 PIN RECTANGULAR. NEPAL KO ROUND ###
