In my opinion, Komal Oli made a terrific statement of women freedom. Some people might not like it today, but one day, feminists in Nepal will remember this song as one of the most courageous and pioneering songs. It has historic consequence.

I don't necessarily like the song, but it doesn't really matter.

I heard Komal Oli's father got married last year, with 25 years young girl.

रत्तेउली र तीज जस्ता महिलाका चाडहरु उनीहरुले ठट्टा गर्ने, उत्ताउलो स्वभाव देखाएर रमाउने परम्परा हाम्रो समाजमा चलिआएका कुरा हुन। त्यसै सन्दर्भमा कोमल ओलीको पोईल जान पाम भन्ने गीत जायज छ, जसको विरोध एउटा महिलाको समूहले गर्‍यो तर भर्खरका देखि बुढिहरुसम्मलाई यो गीतले मनोरन्जन दिएको मैले पाए।

मैले ल्याउन पाम भन्ने गीत पनि सुन्दा राम्रै लाग्यो। तर केही सब्दहरु कोमल ओली प्रति लक्षित छन, जुन मलाई पटक्कै मन परेन। उमेर ४० (दुई बीस), अहिले सम्म कुमारी होलिन त भन्ने जस्ता ब्यक्तिगत आच आउने खालका कुरा राखेर गीत सम्पादन र सम्योजन मात्र हैन, भिडियो नै बनाएको चै मलाई अलिक पचेन। मेरो विचारमा त यो प्रतिभा र पैसाको नास हो। यस्ता कुराहरुमा अलिक सम्वेदनशिल हुनु पर्छ। यो गीत पिकनिकमा साथीहरु बीच गाउन सम्म मात्र ठीक होला।

I have been reading some articles on Komal oli's "Poila Jana pam..." but didn't get any chance to listen it. I like it very much. She is really great in terms of expressing real feeling by her song. She is talented, educated and independent what else one can think of. When a woman is strongly self- dependent, it is difficult to find suitable match.

I have a fantasy about " poila". I wish I could elope with someone for few days in the paradise. Sounds crazy......
