Pundit, I had a good fortune of meeting couple of individuals from Slovenia about a month back and here is my impression after about 3 hours of conversation with them.

Huge majority Christians; small but rich country. Unlike people from Portugal of Poland, they are not keen in coming to UK or Germany to work as they are themselves rich and unemployment is low. Small capital (about 0.4 mio people); separated from Yougoslavia not so long ago. They look very similar to a Nepali with black hair. They had heard about Nepal and were quite enthusiastic to learn about HInduism. This is my personal impression after meeting these two people.

If you are going there soon, enjoy your trip.

Anyway, i iwll take as it comes.
Raja Hji i am looking for the society around Lj... and living styles.
Thanks for your 2 cents.

Pundit,

Maybe I can tell you a little bit of what I know about Ljubljana. I've been there a number of times. First of all, almost everyone speaks english, and it will come to you as a surprise. I usually went there over weekends from Italy, and people in Italy really don't speak much english. Ljubljana is pretty small if you consider just the heart of the city, the suburban sprawl is quite spreadout. Everything is pretty much around the city square on the banks of the river with the three bridges (I forget the names). Some pretty good pubs and bars on the part of town across the bridge, right below the castle.
The clubs there are pretty crazy, the girls are wilder than italian girls, atleast in my opinion. I'd recommend Papillon, it's right at the centre (quite close to where McDonalds is at the city center). Great food, very crowded.
One of my Slovene friends took me to a very local joint, very popular, where they served Horseburgers! If you are the adventurous kind, you can give it a try. It's isn't too bad really, as long as you try not to visualize the animal that you're eating.
