I just bumped into this. Wow. What an honor.

I want to take this opportunity to praise Sajha. As someone who has been an early internet enthusiast and has been involved with several dot com start-ups, and currently has two online businesses, I must say Sajha really stands out. It is a rather unique community. Nothing like it out there. It is like a chat room that is much more than a chat room. And the Sajha archives is repository to numerous people who stand to put their stamps on many wonderful endeavors.

Heck. Sajha could become a franchise. Go public! Down the line. You never know.

I think San is a creative genius...

This whole "Person of The Year" thing really panders to the Nepali mindset. Everybody thinks that they are "entitled" to rule over everybody else... sometimes without realising that the other person feels the same.

I think you hit the nail on it's head, Masaan.

It actually isn't only Nepali mindset but I believe a natural human tendency. I think SAN had played this prank last year too and there were enough casualties. Even if we haven't done anything, when the honor is given to us, we do think we deserve it at times.

As you said it, it is very true in Nepali Politics. Ever leader think he should be a PM or atleast a minister, whether he deserves it or not. We are quick to point out the ego factor in somebody else, but we should be aware that these tendencies exist in everybody, including ourself.

" This whole "Person of The Year" thing really panders to the Nepali mindset."

sorry masaan bro?? timile bhaneko maile bujhena..ppl like us who contirbute to this site, using our valuable time(yes masaan, my time is valuable), each day, jotting down something usefull/useless thing, do deserve to be person of the year and i dont think that requires nepali mindset.

please do not use such harsh words, like "panders" and "mindset", at last we all are humans, humanism exists on all of us, not just nepali.

"We are pleased to inform you that after careful consideration we have selected REKHA as the sajha person of the year 2004. REKHA has contributed to our virtual community by participating with all of us here during the year 2004.

Let us join hands in appreciating REKHA and all the rest of us who have made sajha a community of Nepalis built on a spirit of sharing and coming together.

For the winners of past Person of the years, thanks for your continued involvement in the sajha community and for referring many of your friends and family to come an become a part of this growing community.

Best wishes for 2005. May this year bring inner happiness, satisfaction, peace and compassion in each one of our hearts."

San Pradhan

Do I have a right to say something about this or not ???

First of all I just want to say that I'm very HoNoReD, Thank you San Dai.

NO way yes I do think you deserve to be Sajha Person Of the Year, No Doubt.

Paramendra ji there is no reason why you should be taking your fustration out on anyone. It was San dai's decision and I had nothing to do with it. To tell you the truth I had not gotten a chance to log into Sajha for past several days. So if you're going to get mad then don't get mad at me. No offence..........Being reconized by someone is an honor not 15 minutes of fame......................Peace Out..............
