Sorry had to start fresh!!
Who doesn't get a check?
1.Single adults who make more than $99,000 and married couples who earn more than $198,000 won’t receive stimulus checks.

2.Those without a Social Security number and nonresident aliens — those who aren’t a U.S. citizen or U.S. national and don’t have a green card or have not passed the substantial presence test — aren’t eligible.
3.You’re also ineligible if your parents claim you as a dependent on their taxes.

Dose not necessarily mean u need to be citizen or green card to get a check .anyone who been filing tax since 2016 gets check. For tax purposes anyone who paying tax for 3 consuccative year is a resident alien no matter which visa ur in

@ SSK if someone have not passed the substantial presence test — aren’t eligible. I have nothing to say if IRS form was filed incorrectly. For example , F1 would not be eligible in 3 years. H1 and J1 are different. I’m just trying to clear up the misconceptions.

This exactly from IRS website
Date of entry into United States: 08-15-2015
Student F-1 visa
Exempt individual for 5 calendar years (2015 through 2019)
To determine whether W meets the substantial presence test (183 days), begin counting days on 01-01-2020.
Number of nonexempt days in United States during 2020: 366 days

366 days

Count days as follows:

Current year (2020) days in United States (366) × 1 = 366 days
Prior year (2019) days in United States (0) × 1/3 = 0 days
Year before that (2018) days in United States (0) × 1/6 = 0 days
Total = 366 days

W meets the substantial presence test on 07-01-2020 (the 183rd day of 2020). W's residency starting date under IRC § 7701(b) is 01-01-2020 (the first day he was present in United States during the calendar year in which he met the substantial presence test).

H1 is resident alien j1 is resident alien after 2 tax year f1 is resident alien after 5 tax year . Anyone here before 2016 tax year in any visa I assume they are in tps , tps is already protected status so they are us citizen for tax purposes . Almost everyone who filed tax 2016 should auto qualify .those who really need this check are low income undocume ted immigrants , but unfortunately they dnt qualify

Majority of low income, undocumented do bring home good money. Some of them get paid less, but they put in extra hours. Most of them siphon money back to their home country. Their net savings are better than ours because we have huge expenses compared to them. I would worry about middle class and working class Americans. When economy is down like this, all of us will be thrown under the bus. They don’t pay any taxes and work in Hariyo(Paisa). Some in constructions bring home good paychecks too up 25-30 per hours under the table. Don’t feel too bad for them. The city I live in has a refugee ministries and food banks that provide free healthcare and foods to low income people.
