American Kanchho,
On my last trip to Nepal in mid 2014 I flew Qatar via Doha. I had 10 hrs transit time in Doha but they denied me and my family of 4 hotel accommodation saying that the ticket I bought was discounted which they said does not qualify for free hotel.
On our return trip though the flight got delayed which resulted in the transit time being extended to 11 hours. Qatar Airways provided us with hotel in Doha. Qatar is a small country so the trip from airport to hotel was less than 40 min. They provided dinner and breakfast the next morning.
So my point here is the free hotel accommodation depends upon the type of ticket you have and the transit time.
Astu.
